# From Xanthi to Europe: Empowering Young People Through Learning, Participation and Cooperation
Our journey began in Xanthi with a simple yet powerful belief: young people have the potential to become drivers of positive social change when they are provided with opportunities, trust, and support. Guided by this vision, our association has been working to create meaningful learning experiences and participation opportunities for young people from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.
Since our establishment, we have focused on youth work as a tool for empowerment, encouraging young people not only to acquire knowledge but also to develop critical thinking, creativity, and a sense of responsibility toward their communities. Through activities addressing environmental sustainability, climate action, social inclusion, volunteering, intercultural dialogue, and active citizenship, we aim to place young people at the center of change-making processes.
Our approach is rooted in non-formal education and experiential learning. We believe that learning is most effective when it is actively experienced. For this reason, we organize workshops, field activities, volunteering initiatives, creative projects, and international exchanges that enable young people to learn by doing, reflecting, and collaborating. These experiences help participants strengthen their skills, broaden their perspectives, and build meaningful connections with others.
Creating safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments remains one of our highest priorities. We encourage young people to express their ideas freely, learn from one another, and embrace diversity as a source of strength. Bringing together participants from different countries and cultural backgrounds allows us to foster mutual understanding, solidarity, and a stronger sense of European citizenship.

We actively support the participation of young people with fewer opportunities and continuously work to ensure that our activities are accessible and responsive to diverse needs. We believe that meaningful participation goes beyond attendance—it means involving young people in shaping ideas, making decisions, and implementing solutions.
Today, our association continues to grow by building strong partnerships across Europe while remaining deeply connected to local needs and realities. Through cooperation, shared learning, and collective action, we strive to create sustainable impact in the youth field and contribute to more inclusive, engaged, and resilient communities.
